Lost...then Found!
I am writing this review about a little book which was given to me years ago by a 93-year-old friend of mine. We came to be friends in an odd way. I, looking for work, she, needing a caregiver.
I walked into her apartment and my eyes fell up on a rather large painting of a Saint. Saint Theresa to be exact. This was truly a match made in heaven as Saint Theresa just happened to be my patron saint. "Her's too," she enthusiastically tells me. A union was formed.
Our union lasted about 10 months. Her sons thought it better to move mom to an assisted living home 253 miles away. Both our hearts were broken and we cried as we hugged for the last time.
She handed me this little book of saints. "Read it daily," she told me. "It has all that you will ever need to make it through in this world". Then...she was gone.
Less than a week later...she suffered a stroke. Christmas Eve, she passed. '
The book, in my grief, was lost. I don't know where it disappeared to. I looked and looked, needing the last gift my friend had given me. But alas...it was gone...
This was over 10 years ago.
Yesterday my youngest came to me. "Mom," he said, "This must be yours." He hands me a small book with a pink hair tie wrapped around it to keep the pages intact. "What?" I replied "Oh my goodness, Julian!" "Where on earth did you find that?" he replied, "It was tucked in with a bunch of my baby pictures," he tells me.
"I figured it must be your's as it has your birthday marked with the words...'my birthday' and September 8th circled."
My little "Character Calendar", with all my notes, found me! Mrs. Lutze...I LOVE YOU!
A book you will read daily...year after year.
It is TRUELY, all you will ever need ,,, to make it...
